We have advised WestBridge-backed Alpine Fire (Alpine), the market-leading specialist in design, project management and maintenance of active fire suppression systems for complex industries, on the funding to support the acquisition of DAS Fire, a business that designs, supplies, installs and maintains fire suppression and detection systems for the data centre market.

The facility has already financed the company’s recent acquisition of DAS Fire and will provide funding for future strategic acquisitions to supplement its ambitious organic growth strategy. This M&A deal was advised by the Clearwater Business Services team.

Since undergoing a management buyout in December 2022, supported by private equity firm WestBridge, the Alpine management team has driven strong growth across their core sectors whilst adding additional technical expertise to expand into new complex markets. This transaction was advised by Clearwater’s Industrials team.

Debt facilities for this transaction were provided by Shawbrook and HSBC and will support Alpine to continue its growth plans by acquisition.

Very pleased to have worked with the team at WestBridge and Alpine to secure a funding package that has supported the business with its growth plans. This is already evidenced by the recent acquisition of DAS Fire. This transaction enabled us to use our deep-rooted sector knowledge and close relationships with suitable funders to find the right funding package for the business.

We’d like to say thank you to the Clearwater Debt Advisory team, for their sound advice throughout the debt raise process. We felt reassured that the team understood our requirements and prioritised these throughout what was a very well-run refunding exercise.

Martin Hargreaves, Chief Financial Officer, Alpine

We would like to thank the team at Shawbrook for their continued support and also the team at HSBC, who join us on the next phase of our exciting journey. Having them both and our partners WestBridge in support, will accelerate our ambitions of becoming the leading fire suppression specialist for complex environments.

Steven Nanda, Chief Executive Officer, Alpine

Alpine has driven fantastic growth since our investment in 2022 and this new debt facility brings a level of flexibility and certainty to help Alpine realise the next chapter of expansion and future growth. It has been a busy two years for the team with new senior additions, new IT systems being implemented, a 30% increase in headcount, a strategic bolt-on, all whilst being at the forefront of ESG initiatives in the sector. The addition of HSBC to the funding Shawbrook have provided since the original buyout, is very exciting and we are looking forward to continuing to support the management team as it pursues further development.
