We have advised Minerva Imaging, a leading contract research organisation specialising in radiopharmaceuticals, on its sale to the international private equity firm Nordic Capital.
Since its founding in 2011, Minerva Imaging has grown to become a market-leading contributor in the field of radiopharmaceuticals, cooperating with world-leading biotech and pharmaceutical companies. Minerva Imaging specialises in pre-clinical and early-stage clinical services for the development and testing of advanced pharmaceuticals. Compounds tested target various disease models, primarily in oncology and cardiovascular diseases. The company’s services include in vitro and ex vivo testing, imaging services for translational research and medicine development, and the supply of GMP radiolabelled investigational medicinal products (IMPs).
In a short time, Minerva Imaging has established itself as the industry’s most integrated service provider in the radiopharmaceutical space, possessing leading competencies within the development of radioligand therapies.
Nordic Capital is one of the leading private equity firms in the Nordic region, with a strong international presence in the life science sector. Through the partnership, Minerva Imaging will be supported in its continued growth and further international expansion. As part of the new partnership, both founders, Carsten Nielsen and Andreas Kjær, will remain actively involved in the business. Carsten will continue in his operational role as CEO, while Andreas Kjær will remain on the board of directors and the company’s scientific board.
