We have advised MEGGLE Holding SE (MEGGLE), a German dairy specialist producing consumer products and ingredients, on the placement of a €100m German Schuldschein with DZ Bank and LBBW acting as Joint Arrangers.

Founded in 1887 and headquartered in Wasserburg am Inn, Bavaria, MEGGLE is a foundation-led family business specialising in the processing of milk and whey. Its portfolio ranges from well-known consumer brands such as MEGGLE herb butter to ingredients and pharmaceutical excipients. With around 3,200 employees, MEGGLE is present in 20 countries and supplies customers in more than 100 countries.

Unlike a traditional broadly marketed Schuldschein, the transaction was deliberately structured as a Club Deal with a limited number of selected investors. This enabled MEGGLE to establish a perfectly balanced maturity profile across five, seven and ten years while securing attractive economic terms. The financing combines long-term funding visibility with a concentrated group of relationship-oriented financing partners.

Launched with a benchmark volume of €75m, the Schuldschein was highly oversubscribed and upsized to €100m, with tranches of five, seven and ten years priced at the lower end of the marketing range.

The objective from the outset was not simply to place a typical Schuldschein, but to create a financing structure tailored to MEGGLE’s long-term needs: a Club Deal with a small group of high-quality investors, a balanced maturity ladder across five, seven and ten years, and attrac-tive economics. The strong demand allowed us to achieve all of these objectives while in-creasing the transaction to €100m.
