Clearwater has advised the shareholders of Konrad Böhnlein GmbH & Co. KG (Konrad Böhnlein), a market leader for meat and sausage products in the Franconia region of Germany, on the sale of a majority stake to E3 Holding AG (E3 Holding), an industrial holding company focused on long-term investments in the SME sector. With the sale to E3 Holding, company owners Alexandra Böhnlein-Schaudienst and Bernd Böhnlein are securing the future of this successful and traditional company, for which no successors within the family were available.
Headquartered in Bamberg, Germany, Konrad Böhnlein is a market-leading manufacturer of meat and sausage products in the Franconia region, generating sales of €45m in 2022. The company works with more than 2,000 customers across various fields, including the gastronomy and food retail sectors, as well as butchers' shops within the framework of long-term partnerships, all of which demonstrate highly stable business development. With its products, Konrad Böhnlein is positioned as high-quality, proven by a large number of qualified specialists amongst their 160 employees.
Founded in 2021, E3 Holding is an entrepreneurially-managed industrial holding company that accompanies medium-sized companies as a long-term investor and partner. The focus is on economically sound, owner-managed companies with a turnover of €10-100m.
