We have advised Virtasen Maalitehdas, a Finnish paint manufacturer, on the sale of the company to the Swedish family-owned group LimhamnsHus Industri.
Virtasen Maalitehdas is the market leader in solvent-based exterior paints in Finland and has experienced strong growth in recent years. The company is known for its breathable, plastic-free interior and exterior paints and has strong brand recognition among consumers. The company’s production facility is located in Parainen, Finland, and it employs 17 people. Virtasen’s revenue for the current year is approximately €6m.
LimhamnsHus Industri, with revenues of approximately €100m, owns Hagmans Nordic AB, a well-known surface treatment products company, and is one of the largest paint industry operators in Sweden. Virtasen Maalitehdas is an excellent strategic fit for the group’s portfolio, particularly with its breathable, natural oil-based and eco-friendly paint products. The acquisition supports LimhamnsHus’s strategy to strengthen its position in the Nordic market and enables the group to leverage Virtasen’s strong market presence in Finland and its expertise in traditional, high-quality paint manufacturing.
