We have advised Cosmoproject, a leading third-party skincare manufacturer, on its combination with Ancorotti Cosmetics, a leading Italian contract manufacturer of makeup products. This transaction contributes to the creation of a market leader in Made-in-Italy cosmetics with over €220m in revenue and a workforce expected to exceed 800 employees by 2025.
Cosmoproject, founded in 1993 by Primo Tortini, operates in the cosmetic sector as a contract manufacturer. Today, the company is the leading independent Italian producer of skincare products and foundations and is recognised by international clients for its extensive expertise in research, development, and production of toiletry products. Cosmoproject serves over 70 clients, exporting more than 50% of its revenue, and employing more than 250 workers.
Ancorotti Cosmetics, founded in 2009 by Renato Ancorotti and his daughter Enrica, quickly established itself in the contract cosmetics sector and is now globally recognised for its expertise in makeup, with undisputed leadership in mascara production. The company serves over 300 international clients, including some of the most dynamic and rapidly growing brands in the industry, generating over 85% of its sales from foreign markets. The entry of L-GAM into the company’s capital, along with the launch of its ambitious investment plan, has positioned Ancorotti Cosmetics at the heart of a strategic alliance among leaders in Italian beauty excellence.
The transaction will allow Cosmoproject and Ancorotti Cosmetics to lay the foundation for the development of an Italian industry leader, determined to compete and establish itself internationally, bringing together the best of the Italian expertise in makeup, alcoholic fragrances, and skincare.
