Adviser to Fantini on securing a new loan to support its growth plan

Sector

Food & Beverage

Region

Italy

We have advised Fantini, an Italian boutique winery with a strong focus on exports and a portfolio company of Platinum Equity since 2020, on securing a loan to support its new phase of growth.

The loan was provided by a syndicate of leading banks and institutional investors comprising Muzinich, Intesa Sanpaolo, UniCredit, and Deutsche Bank Italia.

Fantini, which has taken over the legacy of the historic Farnese brand, represents a highly innovative and flexible business model within the global wine industry. With its operational and management centre based in Abruzzo, the company has progressively expanded its production network with wineries in Sicily, Sardinia and, more recently, Spain. Fantini reports a turnover in excess of €80m and an EBITDA of approximately €22m, with over 90% of its turnover generated abroad.

This transaction represents a key strategic milestone in Fantini’s development, providing the financial flexibility to accelerate the implementation of the business plan, whilst consolidating and expanding the company’s presence in the international markets.

Fantini

We are extremely proud to have worked alongside Fantini and Platinum Equity on this significant financing transaction, which confirms our proven ability to support the very best of ‘Made in Italy’ and major international investors in their development journeys. This new financing provides Fantini with the optimal resources and capital structure to implement an ambitious business plan, building on a proven business model and a track record of successful growth in the wine sector.
