We have advised the owners of Axitare, a Finnish health technology company providing automated medicine dispensing robots, on its sale to Vaaka Partners, a Finnish private equity investor.
Axitare Oy is a Finnish health technology company founded in 2016, specialising in automated medication dispensing robots designed to support elderly individuals living at home. Axitare’s flagship product is an easy-to-use dispensing robot that delivers medications in user-friendly cups without requiring users to press buttons or handle packaging. This innovation enhances medication adherence and safety, reducing the workload on caregivers. Developed in close collaboration with home care professionals, Axitare's solution is now utilised in over 4,000 homes across Finland and Denmark.
In 2024, Axitare achieved revenues of €5.8m, showing impressive 75% growth, and over 50% EBITDA margin. Together with Vaaka Partners, Axitare’s plan is to accelerate its international growth and expand its innovative solutions to new markets. As a leader in utilising medicine dispensing robots for home care, Finland sets an example that many European countries are now following to modernise their home care processes.
In May 2025, Axitare launched a new version of its medicine dispensing robot with an integrated remote video connection platform for home care customers, caregivers, and family members.
