Clearwater has advised SIB, a manufacturer of specially designed steel and plastic brushes for snow clearance of airport runways and railways, on its sale to Lagercrantz Group.

SIB develops, manufactures and distributes specially-designed steel and plastic brushes for snow clearance of airports and railways, and for industrial application in the manufacturing industry. With its cassette brush system, SIB has become the market leader in the Nordics and holds a strong position in the US. A large proportion of the company’s sales stems from exports.

As a family owned business, it was very important that the company was sold to the right owners. Clearwater introduced Lagercrantz Group, a listed company with the capability to support SIB in its future development.

Lagercrantz is a technology group selling value-adding technology, either its own products or from distributing other leading suppliers. There are around 40 companies in the group, each one aimed at a specific market niche. The companies all have a high degree of customer adaptability, support and service. Lagercrantz is active in seven North European countries and China. The group has around 1,100 staff and a turnover of more than €270m (SEK 2.5b). The company is listed on Nasdaq Stockholm since 2001.

Clearwater has carried out a satisfactory sales process for SIB and has found a very suitable buyer, and has also actively helped us finding a good solution for both the family and the company.

We are proud to have had the privilege of representing a classic Swedish industrial company, with most of its sales in the Nordic countries, Europe and the US. By selling high quality, patented products, SIB holds a unique position in the airport and manufacturing industry. Together with the family we have found a suitable new owner who can help develop the company further.
