We have advised energy and telecommunications group Norlys on its acquisition of energy group EWII Fibernet A/S comprising 135,000 homes passed.
Norlys is Denmark’s largest energy and telecommunications group, delivering energy, EV charging stations, internet, TV, and mobile phone services throughout Denmark. Norlys is a co-op owned by more than 800,000 stakeholders and has 4,600 employees across the country, with the overall vision of driving the green transition and digital empowerment of Danish society.
EWII is a multipurpose utility company in the ‘Triangle Region’ in eastern Jutland, serving co-op owners with electricity, water, heating, and fibre network in the area. The divestment of the fibre network winds up nicely with the EWII group’s mission to roll out fibre in the entire Triangle Region after having invested over €350m in the network over a decade.
With the acquisition of EWII’s Fibre network Norlys’ fibre business will cover more than one million addresses, providing further scale to continue its investments in a future-proof sustainable, and secure digital infrastructure in Denmark.
