Clearwater has advised Firmo on its acquisition of Staples Portugal, a market-leading multi-channel distributer and one-stop-shop for all office and school needs, with a national network of 34 stores.
Firmo is an emblematic company from Porto, with more than 70 years of history and a leader in the manufacture and sale of school, stationery, and office products, some of which have become inseparable icons of the brand Firmo, such as the Blue Notebook, the Black Cover Notebook and the Sebenta.
This acquisition represents an opportunity to combine Firmo’s manufacturing capacity and its already relevant market position with Staples Portugal, an unavoidable brand in the sector, with a growing customer base of around 1.9 million customers in Portugal, online, mobile and B2B, and a modern distribution centre with 24-hour delivery ability.
