Clearwater has advised Capidea on the sale of BROEN-LAB, Europe’s leading manufacturer of laboratory fixtures and emergency shower systems to Chicago-based LI Enterprise Group, which owns a group of global manufacturing companies in the laboratory industry.
BROEN-LAB has a strong global market position with activities in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Australia where the company develops, manufactures, and markets laboratory fixtures and emergency shower systems for laboratories, educational institutions, the pharmaceutical industry, and the food industry. Headquartered in Assens, Denmark, the company is the leading player in Europe and is also present with sales and services companies in England, Germany, Sweden, Singapore, and the US. Prior to the sale, the Danish private equity fund Capidea has been the main shareholder in BROEN-LAB.
LI Enterprises Group includes the manufacturing companies WaterSaver Faucet Co., Guardian Equipment Inc., and Oval Fire Products LLC and has a global network of production, sales, and distribution facilities. The first company was founded in 1946, and the current owner and CEO, Steven Kersten, is the third generation in the management of the family-owned company. BROEN-LAB will continue as an independent company within LI Enterprise Group under its current management.
The new joint ownership provides BROEN-LAB, WaterSaver, and Guardian with an even better platform for developing solutions that meet the customer’s needs. The companies will work together to share resources, achieve economies of scale, and expand globally.
