Clearwater has advised hamburger chain, Bastard Burgers, on its sale to Equip Capital.
Bastard Burgers is Sweden’s fastest growing hamburger chain with 30 restaurants nationwide. The company was founded in 2016 and has experienced exceptional growth since the first restaurant opened in Luleå. Their burgers are highly rated by critics and their objective is to fill the gap in the market between fast food and fine dining.
Equip Capital acquired a majority stake in the company. The previous owners, which consisted predominantly of the company’s management, will remain and continue to develop the business together with Equip.

The owners of Bastard Burgers really pushed themselves to develop both the food and the commercial concept before they started their large scale expansion. The result is a company with a tangible opportunity to grow in a profitable and scalable way. Equip Capital has the experience the owners were looking for to take Bastard Burgers to the next level. We are convinced that it’s a company to keep on the radar the next few years.
