We have advised Westcomp, a Swedish specialist in electronic components and component supply, on its sale to Tången, a Nordic industrial group driving sustainable growth through long-term ownership of niche mid-sized companies.
With high technical expertise and a long history dating back to the late 1980s, Westcomp is headquartered in Mölndal, with a turnover of over €18m (approximately SEK 200m) and employing approximately 25 professionals. Since 2001, Westcomp has been run as an independent company with strong and long-standing customer relationships in the Nordic industry and electronics manufacturing.
Westcomp is a true strategic purchasing partner for customers who need electronic components in their production. Their unique overall concept, combined with their own system support, results in significant customer value. They help their customers avoid costly production stoppages, while reducing COGS, indirect costs and inventory for customers with complex BOMs (Bill Of Material) consisting, for example, of over 100 items that need to be purchased from more than 20 suppliers.
For Tången, the acquisition means that the industrial technology business area is further strengthened and broadened, while Westcomp gains the opportunity to accelerate its development with the support of a stable and long-term owner. Together, Tången and Westcomp are well-positioned to deliver even greater customer value and drive sustainable growth going forward.
