We have advised Bufab, a leading supply chain partner and supplier of C-parts, on the carve-out of its non-core manufacturing companies, Bufab Lann and Hallborn, to the investment company Arbona.

The decision to divest the two companies aligns with Bufab’s strategic plan to strengthen its focus on its trading business and complementary niche companies.

Bufab Lann and Hallborn, headquartered in the Gnosjö region, the heart of the Swedish manufacturing industry, specialise in turning and milling metal components. Built upon an 80-year heritage, the companies have emerged as leading and trusted manufacturers of high-quality metal components, serving numerous 'blue-chip' customers across various industry verticals globally.

Arbona is an investment company that, through active and long-term ownership, invests in companies with healthy profitability, strong cash flow, and corporate culture. The acquisition of Bufab Lann and Hallborn complements Arbona’s existing portfolio of metal machining companies.

I am pleased that we are nearing the end of the strategic review that began in December 2023, and I see the divestments as part of streamlining Bufab’s offering and as a step towards achieving our updated profitability targets. Arbona stood out early in the process and feels like the right owner to take advantage of and drive Lann and Hallborn forward.

Erik Lundén, President and CEO, Bufab

The acquisitions of Lann and Hallborn represent a strategically important piece of the puzzle for Arbona Industri AB, as we now have a strong platform in machining, which effectively strengthens and complements our existing companies.

Martin Zetterström, CEO, Arbona
