We have advised GMC Group (GMC), the leading multi-disciplinary utility provider for critical infrastructure projects in Ireland, on its investment from TowerBrook Capital Partners (TowerBrook).
Founded over four decades ago, GMC operates across four key sectors: water, gas, power and public infrastructure. GMC has built longstanding and trusted relationships with semi-state bodies and specialists in full turnkey design and build solutions.
TowerBrook is a transatlantic investment management firm with over €21bn ($25bn) in assets under management. The firm focuses on private equity and structured opportunities across Europe and North America, partnering with management teams to build and transform businesses.
This milestone comes at a time of significant growth and expansion at GMC, as the company continues to secure and deliver large-scale public and private sector projects across Ireland’s infrastructure landscape. GMC plans to leverage TowerBrook's partnership to scale its organisation, accelerate its growth ambitions, and continue delivering high-quality, critical infrastructure that communities can rely on.
Following the conclusion of the transaction, the management team at GMC, led by CEO Shane McCloskey, will remain the majority shareholders and will continue to lead the company.
In addition to advising GMC, our Irish debt advisory team also supported TowerBrook on the financing of this transaction, arranging debt facilities from Tikehau Capital and Bank of Ireland. This integrated approach ensured a seamless execution for both the equity and debt elements of this deal.
This transaction is subject to CCPC approval.
