We have advised the shareholders of El Granjero on its sale to Global Eggs, through its subsidiary Hevo Group, which now becomes the largest egg producer in Spain.
El Granjero, a family business founded in 1997 and based in Segovia, has established itself as a leader in the production of alternative eggs in Spain. It offers a wide range of products, including free-range, organic, and barn eggs, supplying the country's main distribution chains. It currently sells more than 300 million eggs per year and has the capacity to house nearly one million laying hens.
Hevo Group, founded in 2022, currently comprises Dagu, Ous Roig, Granja Agás, Avícola Larrabe, Granja Legaria, and now, El Granjero. In November 2024, it began a period of growth and expansion by joining Global Eggs, one of the leading international groups in the sector, led by Brazilian businessman Ricardo Faria, with a consolidated presence in Brazil and the US.
The incorporation of El Granjero allows Global Eggs to consolidate its position as the leading player in the Spanish poultry market. This transaction constitutes a significant step in its European expansion strategy, while underscoring the consolidation dynamics currently affecting the sector.
