Clearwater has advised the owners of Remagruppen, a leading player in exterior property maintenance services, on its sale to private equity fund Equip Capital.

Remagruppen, backed by NEA Partners since its inception, responds to the need for a one-call-fix-all solution in a highly fragmented market, by providing property owners with a full range of maintenance services. Today, the group consists of LA Takvård, PSI Services, MV Service, Jacobsons Plåtmålning, Decagruppen, and Decasol. The group’s vision is to become Sweden’s leading group in must-have, non-cyclical sustainable property maintenance services for private, commercial, and municipal properties with a focus on recurring exterior maintenance and services.

Equip Capital has become the majority shareholder of Remagruppen, following a process led by Clearwater between late 2022 and early 2023. The owners opted to partner with Equip Capital and reinvested alongside them, retaining a significant ownership going forward. Together with Equip and NEA Partners, Remagruppen is now set to continue its expansion across Sweden and other Nordic countries.

Together with NEA, and now also Equip as a growth partner, we will continue to work towards our vision of well-maintained and sustainable properties. There is much to be done and we see that major trends such as energy efficiency and the recycling of materials, will continue to benefit Remagruppen for a long time. Remagruppen is well on its way to becoming the leading player in sustainable property maintenance in Sweden, and our model of finding the best companies within each service offering with strong entrepreneurship and local brands has been very successful, and where we also see revenue synergies within the group. Focus on customer value, employee engagement, and sustainable solutions will be key factors for the group going forward.

We are very excited to support Remagruppen in their vision to establish a Nordic group, within exterior property maintenance and services. The market is large and highly fragmented and driven by several long-term structural drivers, most importantly an ageing property stock in need of sustainable solutions to extend the expected lifetime. Through consolidation and by establishing a comprehensive provider of property services with the vision of providing ‘one-call-fix-all’ solutions, we aim to build the leading Nordic player in extending property lifetime.

Eivind Saga, Partner, Equip Capital

It has been very exciting to work together and support the founders and owners of Remagruppen, throughout the entire process with Equip Capital. We are extremely impressed with what the management team of Remagruppen has achieved during the company’s short history, and equally impressed with what the entrepreneurs behind the subsidiaries have built up in their respective niches. We are convinced that Equip is the perfect partner for Remagruppen and NEA, and we look forward to following the future journey of the group.
