We have advised the owners of ABC Lavpris on its sale to Dagrofa, one of Denmark’s leading grocery retail groups.
Founded in 1981 by cousins Esper and Henning Tobiasen, ABC Lavpris has grown into one of Denmark’s largest independent discount supermarket chains. Today, the company operates 16 stores across Jutland and Funen. Throughout its more than 40-year history, ABC Lavpris has remained family-owned and has built a loyal customer base through its focus on low prices and a broad grocery assortment.
Dagrofa is one of Denmark’s leading grocery retail groups, serving customers through a portfolio of well-known retail concepts and a nationwide wholesale and distribution network. Through the acquisition, Dagrofa strengthens its position in the Danish grocery market and adds a recognised regional discount chain to its portfolio.
As part of the transaction, the Tobiasen family will continue as shareholders in ABC Lavpris and remain closely connected to the company’s future development. The partnership combines the entrepreneurial heritage and strong local market position of ABC Lavpris with Dagrofa’s scale, industry expertise and long-term growth ambitions.
ABC Lavpris will continue operating under its established brand and concept, building on the strong market position and customer loyalty developed over more than four decades. Dagrofa and the existing owners share an ambition to continue expanding the ABC Lavpris concept through additional store openings, further strengthening the company’s position in the Danish grocery retail market.
