We have advised the shareholders of SOPSEC, a well-established Portuguese construction engineering consultancy, on the sale of the company to Artelia Group (Artelia), an international group ranked amongst the top 10 European construction engineering firms.

Founded more than 38 years ago in Portugal, SOPSEC has built extensive experience in the engineering consultancy sector, providing design, project management, construction supervision, and advisory services, including sustainability services. The company employs over 150 professionals across its offices in Porto and Lisbon.

SOPSEC supports both public and private sector clients across a wide range of developments, including commercial, industrial, residential, retail, hospitality, heritage, and education projects, leveraging a highly qualified team composed predominantly of engineers.

With 11,400 employees in more than 40 countries, Artelia is consolidating its presence in the Iberian Peninsula through this acquisition, strengthening its position in Europe and enhancing its ability to respond to local clients' needs. The transaction also provides Artelia with a recognised local platform from which to accelerate growth and address increasingly complex engineering projects.
