We have advised the owners of Apukka Resort on its strategic sale to Norvestor-backed First Camp, the largest campsite and resort group in the Nordics. This transaction marks First Camp’s entry into Finland and strengthens its presence in the fast-growing winter tourism segment.
Located in Rovaniemi on the Arctic Circle, Apukka Resort is one of the largest and most recognised winter tourism destinations in Finnish Lapland. The business generates an annual revenue of approximately €22m, with EBITDA exceeding €10m. It currently offers 116 high-quality cabins and glass igloos, welcoming a growing number of international guests from over 120 countries via more than 40 direct flight routes to Rovaniemi. At Apukka Resort, visitors can experience the magic of the Northern Lights, snowy landscapes, and a variety of winter activities in the official hometown of Santa Claus.
With a strong track record of growth, profitability, exceptional guest satisfaction and a professional local team, Apukka Resort is well positioned to continue executing its growth plan under new ownership. As part of the transaction, Apukka will continue to operate independently under its established brand and management team, ensuring continuity in its identity and commitment to delivering premium Arctic experiences.
The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals, including approval from the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority (Kilpailu- ja kuluttajavirasto, KKV).
