Clearwater Germany has advised TIB Chemicals AG (TIB) on the sale of its subsidiary BNT Chemicals GmbH (BNT) to the listed IBU-tec advanced materials AG (IBU-tec).
TIB is an international chemical company with over 480 employees. For more than 140 years, TIB has offered its customers a diversified product programme as well as customised solutions in areas including basic chemicals, inorganic specialty chemicals and coating systems. TIB is one of the worldwide leading suppliers to the organotin catalysts market.
Founded in 1998, BNT is a specialist in wet chemical processes, with a focus on tin-based chemical products. The company trades across 35 countries worldwide, with its products applied in areas including surface coatings, PVC-tinstabilisers, the pharmaceutical and chemistry industry, as well as the production of silicon, polyurethane-foams and rubber.
IBU-tec is a specialised, high-growth development and production service provider for thermal processing technology, for the treatment of inorganic powders and granules. Based in Weimar, Germany, IBU-tec employs around 150 people.
