We have advised Independence Products Limited (IPL), a supplier of prescribed infection prevention products to chronic care patients, on its sale to Graphite Capital (Graphite).
IPL is a distributor of infection prevention products, primarily for patients with renal conditions to use outside the hospital setting. IPL’s products are protected by patents and listed on the NHS Drug Tariff, which allows for them to be offered on prescription. IPL holds a Dispensing Appliance Contractor (DAC) Licence which allows it to receive those prescriptions and distribute its products directly to patients. IPL distributes products from its warehouse in Nottingham, with the majority of orders on repeat prescriptions.
At acquisition, IPL focused on patients with kidney conditions, with this population particularly susceptible to water-borne infections. IPL’s target population is growing steadily, and the company is driving further penetration through awareness and education campaigns for patients and prescribing practitioners, supported by clinical evidence. As sufferers of a chronic condition, patients have a repeat need for IPL’s products.
