We listen. We grow. Together.
At the beginning of 2025, we ran our ‘Your Say’ colleague engagement survey, with our 425+ team members from 20 offices across Europe. The aim was to measure how engaged and satisfied our employees are with their work, the company culture, leadership, and other aspects of the workplace.
We’ve now run three surveys over the last seven years, allowing us to benchmark our team’s experiences against a cohort of business services and professional services firms. It is an important measure to understand the experiences and feelings of the team.
Colleague engagement is the foundation of business performance and plays a vital role in strengthening organisational culture. Fraser Tidman, International Talent Director at Clearwater, reflected on the company’s strong position in this space:
“At a time when employee engagement levels are generally declining across the market, it’s incredible to see that 95% of our people are engaged, and that 99% of the team are proud to work for Clearwater – this is a truly remarkable figure.”
“We are a people business at heart, and we strongly believe that we provide a differentiated working environment for our people, which in turn enables us to achieve the best outcomes for our clients. But it’s important to fact-check this belief by asking the team directly about their views and experiences of working at Clearwater - what we are doing well and where we need to improve.”
Bruce Weir, International COO, Clearwater
“One of the most encouraging findings relates to leadership and line management. With 97% of employees feeling recognised as individuals and 95% feeling empowered, it’s clear that our focus on inclusive leadership and effective people management is making a positive impact—an effect that is resonating across the team.”
Fraser Tidman, International Talent Director, Clearwater
The previous engagement survey undertaken in 2023 revealed that 95% of respondents said they would recommend Clearwater as a great place, a shift to 99% in two years is significant.
This score remains true, and there have been positive shifts in nearly all areas, in particular collaboration, which has increased by 28% and currently sits at 95%. This statistic is very encouraging and demonstrates that investment in cross-regional workstreams and international training is succeeding.
Another stand-out area is that 98% of our team clearly understand how their contributions drive Clearwater’s success, ensuring people have clarity on how their job impacts the business is imperative.
As always with this type of survey, there will be development areas, something that Clearwater will not shy away from and was reinforced by Bruce Weir, International COO of Clearwater:
“The results and colleague sentiment across Clearwater are extremely positive, and we should be proud. In fact, our engagement score is one of the highest in the market. Nevertheless, we recognise that we can do even more and will be looking at ways to act on the feedback received, as we strive to make Clearwater the best place to work.”
