We have advised DermaPharm, a manufacturer of high-quality skin care products, on its sale to the healthcare private equity fund Archimed.

DermaPharm is headquartered in Fårup, East Jutland, where the company’s 120 employees produce sun care, skin care, and hair care products — both under its own brands and as a CDMO for other brands.

For over 40 years, DermaPharm has developed and produced environmentally friendly, mild, and skin-friendly sun and skin care products in Denmark and abroad, setting the standard for quality in the industry. The company is known for its full-service expertise, from formula development to certification, production, and branding, and holds a strong reputation and leading position in the Scandinavian market, one of the most developed and regulated skincare markets in Europe, particularly when it comes to certifications such as the Swan and the Asthma and Allergy labels.

Archimed is a global private equity fund focused on the healthcare sector, strategically supporting companies in their next growth phase through internationalisation, innovation, and mergers and acquisitions.

DermaPharm is the sixth company Archimed has invested in within its Consumer Health division, underscoring the fund’s focus on health-related consumer products. DermaPharm’s CEO, Mikkel Egelund Jensen, and the management team, who have also reinvested significantly, will lead the next chapter in DermaPharm’s growth journey, accelerating development by expanding the sun care range, increasing production capacity, and strengthening distribution channels to reach more pharmacies, retail stores, and skincare brands across the Nordics and internationally.

I am confident that we are in a strong position with Archimed and that together we are ready to step into a promising future. Now that the sale is complete, I know even more about my company than I did before, thanks to a very pleasant and educational process with the excellent, close-knit team at Clearwater, who have an exceptional ability to remain calm and maintain a clear overview of all stakeholders involved.

Mikkel Egelund Jensen, CEO and Co-owner, DermaPharm

DermaPharm is looking forward to a very promising future with an even more committed management team and a fund that brings strong expertise. The journey now continues in a new gear, and I am very much looking forward to following it from the sidelines. We have been very happy with the team that helped us reach our goal. We chose Clearwater based on its excellent reputation, finely meshed international network and, not least, the human aspect and passion the team demonstrated throughout, to achieve the best financial and value-based results for DermaPharm.

Brian Mollerup, Former Chairman of the Board, DermaPharm

DermaPharm is a leader in developing and producing eco-friendly, certified skin care and sun protection products — both under its own well-known brands and as a CDMO for several brands in Denmark and abroad. The partnership with Archimed, marking the French fund’s first acquisition in Denmark, is a seal of approval for this strong position. The fund has an extensive network within the category and will contribute significantly to DermaPharm’s continued growth journey, which we are very much looking forward to following.
