We have advised Samfi-Invest on the sale of Sameole, an independent developer of wind projects in France, to Engie.
Founded in 2005 and previously owned by the Samfi-Invest Group, Sameole has developed a portfolio of wind projects of c.500 MW in seven regions, mainly in the Northwestern and Southwestern regions of France. The team is made up of 20 developers divided into four territorial agencies in Caen, Toulouse, Valence, and Pacé, Brittany.
This acquisition reinforces Engie’s leading position in the onshore wind energy market with 1,900 MW of capacity installed in France. The group’s ambitions are indeed very high, with a target of developing 3 GW of wind energy and 2.2 GW of solar energy by 2021.
