Clearwater has advised KANT arkitekter A/S (KANT), a full-service architectural company, on its sale to Sweco Denmark, owned by listed Swedish engineering and architecture consultancy Sweco AB.

KANT is a full-service architectural company offering new build, renovation and transformation consulting services across all project phases within education, social housing and private housing developments. The company, founded in 1977, has 85 employees and has shown impressive financial performance with high historical revenue growth.

Nasdaq Stockholm-listed Sweco is the largest engineering and architectural firm in Europe, the acquisition is part of Sweco’s growth strategy with the aim of holding a leading position in all home markets over the long term. With this transaction Sweco Denmark will have a turnover of €182m (DKK 1.36bn) with 11 offices and 1,250 employees.

I had imagined that such a process would be constantly nerve-wracking with tough negotiations, but the Clearwater team succeeded in creating a constructive process where, in combination with negotiating terms, we also started the integration of our two companies.
