We have advised Plastic Recycling Limited (trading as Centriforce), a leading manufacturer of 100% recycled ground protection products, on its sale to Rubicon Partners (Rubicon), a London-based investment partnership focused on the acquisition of complex industrial businesses.
Headquartered in Liverpool, UK, Centriforce is Europe’s leading manufacturer of damage prevention products for the Utility, Agricultural, Building and Landscaping markets. Centriforce manufactures its core products from 100% recycled plastic, providing a high-quality, circular economy solution for regulated end markets. Centriforce is best known for its range of industry-leading products, including Stokbord ®Utility Protection, Tapetile® and Locata® in the utility sectors.
The transaction marks an exit for River Capital, after they backed a management buyout of Centriforce in 2014. Since then, the business has grown considerably, investing in new manufacturing capabilities, developing new products and increasing penetration in international and domestic markets.
The Clearwater M&A team advising the shareholders included Michael Loudon, Zack Goddard, Andrew Royle and Callum Lockett, whilst the Clearwater debt team advised Rubicon on raising finance to support the acquisition included Tom Barnwell, David Grassby and Tom Wood.
