The Clearwater team has advised Bär Bahnsicherung, the largest independent rail safety service provider in Switzerland, on its sale to Stadler Signalling, a division of SIX listed Stadler group.

The two companies will jointly drive forward the digitalisation of the rail industry and further strengthening Stadler's overall know-how in train protection and digitalization.

Bär Bahnsicherung AG has been the largest independent rail safety service provider in Switzerland for 30 years. With 4 branches and 130 employees, the company provides the entire service catalogue in the field of railroad safety. A central pillar of Bär Bahnsicherung is its newly developed electronic interlocking system in accordance with European standards (ETCS), which is already being used by many joint customers in Switzerland.

With the acquisition of Bär's team of experts and technology, Stadler's signaling division has received the necessary reinforcement to set the tone in the ongoing mammoth project, the worldwide conversion to digital signaling solutions.

We are very pleased to have a significant increase in experienced specialists with the Bär team. The geographical and cultural proximity of our companies forms an excellent basis for making a significant contribution to the roll-out of digital interlockings and CBTC in the rail industry. We are convinced of the potential of Bär's solutions and employees and look forward to working with them in the future to develop tailor-made products for our customers.

We are delighted to have found a partner in Stadler that ticks in a similar way to us. We both have the goal of convincing our customers of the digitalisation possibilities of infrastructure and vehicles and being able to offer them the best signalling technology solutions from a single source.
