We have advised Dutch-based Bontrup Companies (Bontrup) on its sale of US-based United Dairy Group LLC (UDG) to GreenTop Acres LLC, a family-owned dairy farming business based in Ohio. UDG is a leading integrated dairy farming operation with 8,000 dairy cows in the US Midwest. With this transaction, GreenTop Acres becomes a regional leader in the US Midwest dairy industry with over 20,000 dairy cows.
Founded by Bontrup Companies, UDG has grown into one of the largest independent and fully integrated dairy platforms in the region, operating four modern farms in Indiana and Ohio; Heartland Dairy, New Holland Dairy, Willemsen Dairy, and Geneva Dairy – with approximately 8,000 cows. UDG specialises in the production of high-quality Grade A milk, with supply chain control enhanced through its logistics subsidiary Evermilk Logistics, ensuring consistent and cost-efficient delivery from farm to processor.
Over recent years, Bontrup has invested significantly in herd management, feed production, and modern site infrastructure, positioning UDG for sustainable long-term growth. The group has also initiated environmental projects such as manure-to-energy conversion and fertiliser recovery, underlining its commitment to sustainability. With a dedicated workforce and strong local presence, UDG has established itself as a resilient and future-oriented platform in the U.S. dairy industry.

Together with UDG, it operates approximately 20,000 cows across nine sites, the company is recognised for its sustainability-driven model, combining regenerative agriculture with advanced, data-led management. With a progressive, systems-based approach, GreenTop Acres represents a new generation of high-performance, future-focused dairy farming.
