We have advised Reka Industrial and its owners on the sale of the company to Nexans. Following the transaction, Nexans will strengthen its position in the Nordics notably in electricity distribution and usage. The combined entity has operations across 42 countries and the deal brought Nexans its first production facilities in Finland. Following the transaction, Nexans plans to further transition towards its ambition of becoming a carbon-neutral pure electrification player by 2030.

Reka Cables is one of the market's leading specialised players in Finland for manufacturing low and medium-voltage cables. The company operates in four countries and is well-known to be a premium Nordic brand when it comes to cables. Reka Cables provides durable, high-standard cable solutions for renewable energy production, network construction, the industry as well residential and office construction. One of the unique things about Reka Cables is that it was one of the first cable manufacturers to become carbon neutral on Scopes 1 and 2.

Reka Cables has been majority-owned by a Finnish-listed company Reka Industrial since 2007. During Reka Industrial’s ownership period, the company has been developed with a long-term strategy. Since 2007, Reka Cables has multiplied its sales from approx. €80m to €160m, and employs around 270 employees.

We thank Clearwater for very well managed process and especially negotiations. The team's knowledge and advice of cross-border M&A between public companies was essential to make this deal happen. In addition to the excellent financial result, we are happy that Reka Cables will have a great operational continuity with Nexans.

Markku E. Rentto, Chairman of the Board in Reka Industrial

We are thankful that we are given such a trust to sell owner’s core business with long ownership history taking into account its even longer traditions.
