We have advised Layer Group, a Swedish surface specialist group, on the acquisition of one of Finland’s leading painting groups Kaukomaalaus Oy.

Layer Group is a leading surface service provider in Sweden, comprising of local market leaders in the Nordics with strong and driven entrepreneurs. The group has sales of over SEK 2.2 billion and employs more than 1,600 people across Sweden. Layer Group is majority-owned by the Swedish private equity firm Litorina.

Kaukomaalaus Oy was founded in 1981 with headquarters in Seinäjoki, Finland and operates nationally across seven regions. The Swedish surface service provider Layer Group established itself in Finland by acquiring Kaukomaalaus, one of the country’s largest painting companies.

Both Litorina and Layer Group are highly pleased with the result. Throughout the project, the Clearwater Finland team provided value-adding service for us. They introduced the idea of expanding the Layer Group journey to the Finnish market and used their advanced interpersonal and tactical capabilities to open confidential dialogues and create the trust and atmosphere needed for deeper partnership discussions between Kaukomaalaus and Layer.
