We have advised the inductive solutions supplier Kohsel A/S (Kohsel) and Blue Equity on the sale to Birgit and Morten Kohsel and the investment company AMBright.

In this transaction, we advised Kohsel’s owners, which comprised the private equity fund Blue Equity and the Kohsel family. Kohsel is Scandinavia’s leading designer and manufacturer of inductive components. With more than 600 employees and over 50 years of experience, Kohsel delivers high quality transformers, reactors and filter solutions for clients worldwide. The company is headquartered in Skanderborg, Denmark, and operates production facilities in Latvia and Thailand.

Blue Equity invested in Kohsel in 2014 to support the company’s international expansion and contribute to secure a strong position in the global market. Having achieved excellent results during this period, the Kohsel family will now continue their ownership alongside their new investment partner, AMBright. AMBright is an investment company founded by a group of experienced owner-managers with a wish to allocate their assets to businesses capable of achieving long-term return on their investments.

The new investor group is looking forward to embracing and long-term investing in the possibilities enabled by the requirement of innovative inductive components, driven by the green transition. They believe that the new owner-manager constellation can crucially contribute to the next phase in Kohsel’s development.

Kohsel systems

Kohsel is an excellent example of an electronics business that has successfully established itself not only in Denmark but also in global markets. This transaction is another in a series of Clearwater’s many deals within the industry, including PR Electronics, CUBIC, and OJ Electronics. We are pleased to have earned the trust of both the Kohsel family and Blue Equity, and we look forward to seeing how the new ownership of experienced owner-managers will drive Kohsel into the future.
