We have advised Colam Entreprendre, the private family-owned company and founding shareholder of Sonepar, on the acquisition of a minority stake in Akuo Energy, a producer of energy from renewable resources.

Akuo Energy is the leading independent French producer of energy generated exclusively from renewable sources. Present in 14 countries worldwide, it had a total capacity of 1.1 gigawatts as of the end of 2016, including 666 megawatts in operation, 302 megawatts under construction, and 175 megawatts in financing.

Colam Entreprendre replaces another family office, Cogepa, managed by the Duval-Fleury family, which held a 20% stake in Akuo Energy. The transaction involves a capital increase of €80m. As a result of these two transactions, Colam Entreprendre now holds approximately one-third of Akuo Energy, with the majority of shares remaining with the founders of Akuo Energy.

Akuo energy

Beyond its involvement in and commitment to renewable energy, what excites us about Akuo Energy is the passion, agility and acumen of its approach and the creativity of its initiatives combined with a solid economic model.
