Clearwater has advised Difrax, the Dutch market leader in baby products, on its sale to Canpol Babies, the Polish baby accessories provider.

Difrax was founded in 1967 by Frank and Dimphna van Eijkelenborg, and in 1999 daughter Vivienne van Eijkelenborg took over the company. From that point, a strong focus on product development and exporting to other European countries began, with great success. As a result, Difrax became the market leader in the Benelux, with their iconic S-bottle and butterfly-shaped coloured pacifiers. Through a team of 25 employees, the company now mostly services the Dutch, Belgian and French markets, where it is well known for its unique design and functionality of its products.

Canpol Babies is a Polish baby accessories producer which has been leading their respective home market for 30 years, as well as being available in over 50 countries, with a particular focus on Eastern Europe. Through this acquisition, Canpol Babies begins its first large step in their expansion to the Western European market.

I am convinced that we have found the right partner in Canpol to secure the desired growth and professionalisation. With their advanced factory, knowledge of the market and baby products, we can form the perfect cooperation which creates numerous opportunities. I am deeply convinced that the current team, together with Canpol, will further build out the Difrax brand. It is a big step to say goodbye to the company that was founded by my parents, but I do so with the full conviction that this is the best step for the brand and for me. The professional support of Calearwater International has resulted in a great outcome for Difrax and for me

Vivienne van Eijkelenborg, Former CEO and Owner, Difrax

Vivienne came to us to help her search for a new owner. Focus in the process was to find a buyer alongside which Difrax could grow into the future and we are very happy to have found this at the Canpol Group. We are convinced that Canpol is the right partner to let Difrax flourish and that the combination is a win-win for both parties
