Philip is a partner in our Manchester office and head of both our Food and Beverage and Chemicals sector teams.

Before qualifying as a chartered accountant with Lathams in 1976, Philip spent a year in banking and two years working in industry. He was a founder partner of Lathams having acquired the business in an MBO in 1978. In 1986, Philip qualified as a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation.

Having advised many companies on their growth strategies, Philip took responsibility in 1993 for the newly-formed corporate finance team, shortly to become Lathams Corporate Transactions.

Philip has played an instrumental role in making Clearwater's Manchester office one of the leading corporate finance teams in the North West.

Philip leads our chemicals sector along with our food and beverage sector team, having successfully advised several companies on various strategic options such as development capital, acquisitions, refinancing and disposals and has continuous informal advisory relationships with many others.

Hobbies and interests

Philip enjoys keeping fit through working out in the gym and the occasional skiing trip. For relaxation he likes to salmon fish on any river north of the lakes, which gives him the opportunity to see spectacular countryside and make many friends.
