Graham joined Clearwater in 2008 as our Non Executive Chairman bringing with him over 20 years experience in both industry and corporate finance. He joins the team with particular focus on continuing the development of Clearwater’s service offering.
Graham joins us from private equity firm Alchemy where he was a former partner, during which time he was earmarked to become the CEO of Rover during the firm’s proposed takeover in 2000. Prior to five years with Alchemy, Graham’s previous appointments include board-level positions in companies including timber panel distributor Sylvan International, industrial products business Wardle Storeys, tenanted pub chain Innspired, retail jewellery business Goldsmiths plc and the Bridgewater Hospital, a private hospital in Manchester.
Graham is highly regarded amongst the private equity and corporate finance community, with a wide range of experience in both performing and underperforming businesses. Having the skill sets of both a businessman and a private equity sponsor, he is well placed in offering services and expertise in the debt advisory and the distressed deal space. Graham is well known for his role in leading a management buy-in and subsequent turnaround at Homestyle, and for being part of the Alchemy team that turned around home decorating business AG Stanley.
Graham enjoys the summers yacht racing, whilst taking to the slopes skiing during the winter. In addition, he enjoys watching Manchester United, keeping fit and relaxing by gardening.
