Phil is joint MD of Clearwater and has responsibility for the two offices within Clearwater's Midlands region. He is a leading figure in the Midlands corporate finance community and has consistently featured in awards for top corporate finance adviser and overall top dealmaker
(which he has won twice) over the last five years.
Phil became a partner at BDO Stoy Hayward in 1996 following two years with NatWest where he worked in both Credit Risk and Acquisition Finance. Prior to this he qualified as a chartered accountant with Binder Hamlyn in 1990.
Specialising in private equity, Phil has personally advised over 60 clients through a wide variety of transactions, including the successful disposal of Sol Construction to Rok plc and the sale of specialist transport solutions provider Translinc to RJD Partners.
Phil's PA is Nancy Hatfield.
Phil enjoys spending time with his family and likes to head for the hills at anytime of the year - particularly when there is some snow. Phil also enjoys sport, in particular football and tennis.
