This cross-border deal showed the true potential, scope and power of IMAP. By using it extensively throughout the process Clearwater were able to source 96 potential acquirers across 18 countries, all in just 3 weeks.

Wood Group Power Solutions specialise in providing a full range of services to the power generation industry including, engineering, procurement, construction and design and is a subsidiary of the John Wood Group plc; the international energy services company who has more than $5bn sales, employs around 27,000 people and operates in more than 50 companies worldwide. Wood Group Power Solutions, for an undisclosed sum have acquired Shanahan engineering Ltd; an Irish construction, maintenance and technical services contractor, operating principally in the power generation and oil and gas sector industry.

Clearwater in conjunction with our IMAP partner in Ireland, were able to utilize connections for this deal by drawing from the extensive contact base and market knowledge in the global engineering industry. We were able to introduce Wood Group to the acquisition opportunity and the deal makes a pleasing addition to Clearwater’s established and extensive track-record in the engineering industry.

The transaction reinforced the group’s position as a solutions-orientated provider of power plan EPC services and in particular it has enabled Wood Group Power Solutions to enhance their expertise in fast track natural gas-fired power plants.
