PROjEN plc has completed a multi-million pound management buy-out with funding provided by a combination of The Co-operative Bank and the vendors.

Founded in 1978, PROjEN plc are an award winning multi-disciplined professional project management company geared to providing best value, low cost solutions for industrial projects.Employing over 100 staff at its base in Northwich, PROjEN are specialists in six market sectors including, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, green energy, water & waste treatment, manufacturing and food & drink.
Customers include GlaxoSmithKline, United Utilities, AstraZeneca, BNFL, Coca-Cola and HJ Heinz.

PROjEN plc has completed a multi-million pound management buy-out with funding provided by a combination of The Co-operative Bank and the vendors. The MBO team was led by Executive Chairman, John Taylor and sees Martin Seabrook become Managing Director. They are supported by Operations Director Tony Lea, Business Support Service Director David Elliott and Finance Director Marcus Royle.This is now the 6th deal that Clearwater has completed in the engineering consultancy sector, including the sale of RW Gregory to RPS Group and the sale of DGP to Scott Wilson plc.

Clearwater managed to negotiate and secure funding towards the end of 2008 at a time when the UK was in the early stages of a recession.

Having built up a sound knowledge of the sector, we were appointed by the shareholders, which included John Taylor, early in 2008 to identify a strategic exit plan for the shareholders. The buy-out is the first step in this process and will allow non-executive Chairman John Poole and former Finance Director, David Moss to realise the majority of their investment in the business.Clearwater successfully sourced and negotiated a competitive funding package in a volatile banking market in these recessionary times.
