Wensum accelerates out of administration with a successful sale to Kashkett Logistik Unicorp.


The Wensum Company plc is the 3rd largest supplier of corporate workwear in the UK. After having undergone a series of acquisitions over the previous two years Wensum found itself in breach of its banking facility.

Kashkett Logistik Unicorp Ltd, part of the Canadian based Unicorp Group, acquired the business and assets of Wensum. The deal sees a combined business become the second largest operator in the UK corporatewear market.

With Wensum having become insolvent the bank took the decision to place the company into Administration. Clearwater was retained by the bank to work alongside the incoming Administrator to run an accelerated sale process aimed at maximizing value for the stakeholders. In a period of just two weeks from appointment to completion, Clearwater contacted upwards of 40 potential trade and financial buyers in the UK and internationally and secured 5 offers. After a period of negotiation led by Clearwater, Kashkett was selected as the preferred bidder and a completion achieved within 3 days.
